How to Be the Kind of Real Estate Agent Everybody Loves

There are so many options available to prospective clients looking to buy or sell a house.  They can do it on their own, they can use a Realtor or real estate agent, or they can find a company or investor to buy their property.  With so many options available, how can you stand out from the crowd as an agent who gets things done?  How can you prove that you will work well with them and for them and it will be a great experience for everyone?  Here are some tips to help you be the kind of real estate agent everyone loves to find.

Learn the market

If you want to be at the top, you’ve got to get on top of your game by knowing your market like the back of your hand.  Know all the varying neighborhoods that you work in and their benefits and drawbacks.  During slow time, study these neighborhoods so you’ll be ready when a client inevitably asks a question about the area.

Network like crazy

While in the real estate industry, networking is key to getting ahead.  Not only can it help you find the kind of clients you are looking for, it can also help you find people in related fields that you can help from time to time.  It would be smart to find companies that you trust to refer to your clients.  These could be loan officers, title companies, pest removal companies, house cleaning, and home inspection companies.  The more contacts you meet and keep in contact with, the better off you’ll be. Plus, when someone asks you for a referral for a home inspection or loan officer, you’ve already got someone in mind!

Get good testimonials

One of the best ways to get new clients is by someone referring you to someone else.  That means that you have to go above and beyond for the clients that you have right now.  When you impress your current clients, they will be sure to pass the word around that you were stellar to work with and come highly recommended.  That’s a great way to boost your business right there!

Use your credentials

You worked hard to pass that real estate exam for something–make sure to let clients know where you went to real estate school, when you passed the state exam, and how many other courses you have taken since becoming a real estate agent.  These credentials can be impressive and can sway an unsure client into working with you when you’re a newbie.

Have current listings available

One of the things that prospective clients are looking for is an agent who is active.  They’ll want to see that you have some listings on the market and are proactive about getting these homes sold.  If you work as a buyer’s agent, showcase your skills by stating how long it takes you to get your clients into a house.

Be a negotiation master

Finally, one skill that every client is looking for in their real estate agent is the ability to negotiate a great deal on their behalf.  Show that you can be a bull when you need to be and that you’re willing to do what it takes to get them the best deal possible.

If you follow these tips, you’ll have clients flocking to meet with you because you’ll be the kind of agent that everybody loves to have.  You should also be trustworthy, dependable, honest, and upfront with your clients.  If you are interested in taking pre-licensing, post-licensing, or continuing education courses for real estate, Sea Coast Real Estate Academy is your go-to place for all your real estate education needs.  Click here for more information on class schedules.
