You may just be starting out as a real estate agent, or you are at a point in your career where your business needs a boost. There are several tried and true techniques that will get your business started. Use this time at the New Year to focus on becoming successful.

Your Presence

Whether you are just starting out, or have been in the business awhile, it’s a good idea to take a look at how you are presenting yourself as a professional. Things like your entrepreneurial spirit, communication skills, and likability are all things that you might like to take another look at.  Are you motivated to do what it takes to be successful? Take a look at the ways you are communicating to your past and potential clients. Blasting emails is not always the most successful ways to reach them. Look at social media and setting up an account that will reach your clients. If you’ve lost touch with those that you’ve worked with, send out a Happy New Year card and reminding them of your services. If you are just starting out this idea will also work letting your friends and family know that you are now in the real estate business.

Handling Roadblocks

When you are first starting out there will be a lot of down time while you are trying to find clients. Use that time wisely. Ask to be on phone duty at your brokerage. This could lead to potential clients. It is easy when things are slow to waste valuable time that you could be using to develop marketing and seek out potential clients. It’s easy to get discouraged during this slow time, but try not to. Working hard now will lead to financial gain in the future.

Let the start of the New Year be a springboard for your business. Start with a new attitude of success and a no fail attitude. Don’t get discouraged if things don’t come quickly but know that if you continue to be persistent it will pay off.
